LF-Z Electrified
The future is here in the form of the Lexus LF-Z Electrified. Lexus planned to release this electric-powered vehicle in 2025, but now it sounds like it could hit production as early as late summer or early fall in 2022. The LF-Z is one of 10 models Lexus plans to release over the next four years in an effort to reduce its carbon footprint and ultimately reach carbon neutrality in production, logistics, recycling, and driving by 2050. Trim Levels (Exterior)
Lexus hasn't released any information on trim levels, if any, for the Lexus LF-Z Electrified, but the prototype is being billed as the best-looking in recent years. Those who have had the privilege of viewing this concept car state that it has the roominess of an SUV and the style of a hatchback. The electrochromic tinted floating blackout-style glass roof is bisected by an eye-catching blue line. The rear doors offer an upturned kink, catching the eye of a passersby. The LF-Z also uses the thin lighting strip first used on the UX crossover to bring even more attention to this futuristic vehicle.
You'll find oversized deep-dish wheels, side mirror cameras, illuminated badges on every corner, and pop-out door handles on the LF-Z Electrified. A black translucent panel overlays the spindle grille to add to the out-of-this-world appearance. Finally, the full-width taillight features the name Lexus sprawled across it, letting everyone know the maker of this gem.
Engine (Power)
An electric battery will power the Lexus LF-Z Electrified, but Lexus is staying close-lipped on which battery source they plan to use. It would be safe to assume that the 90-kWh lithium-ion battery that was found in the prototype is one that's being considered. Lexus has been forthright in stating that the LF-Z will use Direct4 technology, which lets the two motors vary the amount of power sent to all four wheels based on need. You'll also find drive-by-wire technology in the LF-Z, allowing the driver to steer the vehicle in any direction more easily.
Performance
Drivers love performance-enhancing features that improve the driving experience, and Lexus will be sure to add plenty to the LF-Z to that end. The prototype sported self-driving sensors labeled LTM for Lexus Teammate. LTM is a next-generation Level 3+ technology that enables communication between vehicles and humans. This technology will blow your mind when the LF-Z is released.
Interior
The prototype of the LF-Z Electrified was minimalist, featuring a one-piece aggressive bench seat and yoke-style steering wheel. The overall design makes you feel like your flying a jet fighter airplane instead of driving a car. The rear seat features a deep scalloped design. You'll also find the play/stop pedals used by Lexus in recent models, along with accent lighting on the floor. You can expect to see a next-generation infotainment system front and center as part of the triple screen layout.

Not much has been said about the safety features of the LF-Z Electrified. Lexus is known for its cutting-edge safety and driver-assistance features, so it's safe to assume this latest model will be packed with features. The latest technology features will surround an advanced air bag system to help keep you and your passengers safe.
