The Powertrain

The hybrid setup seamlessly transitions between the two different types of power and uses four-wheel drive. The Q5 has a plug-in hybrid setup that uses a 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder gas engine and one electric motor. These put out 362 horsepower and use a seven-speed automatic transmission.

Safety Features

Drivers who want more standard safety features should choose the Lexus RX hybrid. It comes with a blind-spot monitor, rear-cross traffic alert, forward collision warning, and forward automatic emergency braking. Pedestrian and cyclist detection are also standard, along with adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, lane-trace assist, and lane-departure warning. The Q5 comes standard with front and rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, and a Pre Sense City system with a low-speed forward-collision warning system. You also get a blind-spot monitor and lane-departure warning. In order to get more of the advanced driver-assist features, you need to bump up to the high-end Premium Plus trim level. This model comes with lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and a surround-view camera system.

Technology Features

You can't beat the tech features that come standard with the Lexus RX hybrid. It comes with Amazon Alexa, which is not available with the Audi, and it has six USB ports. Additional standard tech features include an 8-inch touch screen, a Wi-Fi hot spot, satellite radio, and HD radio. Lexus also offers the option for a 12.3-inch touch screen, and you can get wireless charging, navigation, and add two more USB ports. The Audi has Apple CarPlay and a 10.1-inch touch screen, but the infotainment system is not compatible with Android Auto or Amazon Alexa. It comes with three USB ports, and if you add an additional package, you can get satellite radio. Moving up through the Audi Q5 trims will also get you wireless charging, and you can get navigation.
